The mystery of love, is it a mystery? Something we cannot fathom or
is it in fact simple. Jung said, "I have again and again been faced with
the mystery of love.... to speak of partial aspects is too much or too
little, for only the whole is meaningful."
I think love is
the realization of it, most especially in a romantic relationship. You
realize how much your heart is tied to that person, especially when
there is the idea of them being gone. The realization that your life
would be empty without them.
I was recently watching a
compilation of clips from a movie, She's Having A Baby. The movie is
quite hilarious for the most part. It is the story of a couple who meet
and fall in love. They subsequently get married and have a difficult
time conceiving a child. But the female character does get pregnant.
When it comes down to the end she has difficulty having the baby. The
most powerful scenes are played out in the waiting room as her husband
recalls their moments.
All those moments they were making memories
of their life together. The tears fall silently from his eyes as he is
faced with the prospect of losing her and or their baby. All during this
time Kate Bush's song This Woman's Work plays as the scenes play out in
his mind and he weeps. The song itself is powerful in its lyrics, added
to the scenes it is overwhelmingly powerful, I cried myself. Give me
these moments Give them back to me Give me your little kiss.
Love is not really a mystery, it is the realization of it in your heart.
It's all those little moments when you realize you love that person
your heart is tied to. You know, without a doubt, your life would truly
be empty without them.
I include a link to the song and the movies scenes. I hope you enjoy it.
